Internship Opportunity at Bangalore International Arbitration Centre (BIAC)
The Bangalore International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) is dedicated to promoting and fostering the growth of young legal professionals. As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the legal ecosystem, BIAC is proud to offer a unique internship program through the BAC Academy. This initiative seeks to provide aspiring law students with a thorough, hands-on understanding of arbitration and mediation, fields that are essential to modern legal practice.
BIAC’s internship program is designed for law students across India, and provides an unparalleled opportunity to work closely with experienced legal practitioners, mentors, and professionals in the dynamic and evolving field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Interns will gain firsthand exposure to real-world arbitration proceedings, helping to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical legal application.
What Interns Will Gain
Interns will have the opportunity to:
- Observe and assist in live arbitration and mediation sessions, both in-person and via hybrid/online formats.
- Participate in research, case preparation, and drafting work related to arbitration proceedings.
- Learn from experienced arbitrators, retired judges, and legal practitioners.
- Understand the procedural and practical complexities of institutional and ad hoc arbitration.
- Engage in discussions regarding dispute resolution, confidentiality, neutrality, and cost-effectiveness within the context of arbitration.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of arbitration-related content, research, and legal analysis.
Internship Location and Mode
Interns will be based at BIAC, Bangalore, where we operate two state-of-the-art arbitration halls. However, for those unable to join in-person, BIAC also accommodates hybrid internships, allowing interns to participate virtually in sessions. The flexibility of this mode ensures that all applicants have the opportunity to be part of this prestigious program, irrespective of location.
Duration of the Internship
The internship program is available throughout the year, with varying durations. We encourage law students from all years of study (from 1st to 5th year) to apply, and we will work to accommodate your academic schedule. The internships are flexible and can be tailored to ensure the most beneficial experience for each intern.
